First day at Orkplace.new
Grand tour of the non-euclidean maze of a building where I'll be feeding the flextime troll, interleaved with watching other people fight the bureaucrazy to get me everything I need, and just a bit of information overload. Not too bad for a monday.

Last Train to Z'ha'dum Central
...well, at least the last train paid by my current employer.

Going there and back again today to return laptop, phone and ID badge. Last thing I did yesterday was setting all my VMS accounts /FLAG=DISU and prepending a * to my Unix passwd fields. So this will be the very last thing I officially do and the ultimate friday of this chapter.

Kind of mixed feelings, but mostly good, to leave the past almost 7½ years work behind me and start on something completely new but still somewhat the same.

Power Outage
There was sleet and snow this evening, so obviously the powerlines to all of Linköping failed?!

Well, there were two one-second blackouts while I was in the sauna, and apparently my normally rock-steady home power line was also affected because my ADSL-bridge had hung and the @/"¤%# PC diskserver had fscked up all its filesystems. I'm sure it's a bad thing when fsck complains about lost+found being full...

Of course, my lovely Sun U10 firewall hadn't noticed anything strange at all.

TranceClubber Xmas Party
Tonight there was a semi-secret TranceClubber Xmas Party at L'Orient. I was thinking about not going because I'm supposed to work tomorrow, but then again I really needed the stress release of 4+ hours on the trance floor. So I went. There were lasers, I thoroughly stomped my feet to mush, and I got my endorphine. Sweet.

While on the bus to work today I realized that I had forgotten my work keys, GSM phone and VPN ActiveKey® at home. So I had to get off the bus and walk back home and pick another bus instead. Why did I even bother to wake up today?
