Stitches be gone
Had an appointment to get the stitches on my fingers removed at the hospital at 8:30 this morning, ugh that's earlier than I'm normally at work. Didn't get much sleep because I fell asleep late and woke up several times as usual these past weeks.
07:00 Alarm clock goes off.
07:20 I become aware of snoozing the clock, apparently for the third time.
08:05 Start walking towards the hospital. It's starting to get really chilly outside in the morning, but I kept good pace to keep warm despite the lack of long sleeves covering my arms.
08:35 The nurse starts to dismantle the bandages on my fingers. Lots of stitches to go. Most of the stiches went with no pain or at least bearable pain. A lot of them felt like cutting with a hot knife. A few went off the scale.
At the beginning I was asked to sit down on a stool, but as soon the actual removing of stitches began I had to lie down and even then we had to pause several times so I could recover some blood pressure and sanity. Took one hour in all. Next time I'll ask for anaesthetics.
The reward so far is new sensations of pain, but in a few days time it should be back to hopefully a bit less than yesterday, and it does feel kind of nice to not have the stitches tearing the wounds with each movement.
